Boundaries In Your Business (BTS at BBHQ)

Long time no chat. 

I used to write my own emails, and lately, we make cute graphics to email out. But I wanted to write this one to tell you guy's some BTS details happening at BBHQ.

So as many of you know, the company has been undergoing some changes. It started in April with a rebrand. This came about after the suggestion from one of my team members. When she said it, it just completely resonated with me.

The brand was originally designed for Amazon and needed updating, the identity was completely different from where it began in 2019.

At the time we also had 2 orders in process, one for the Barrier Serum and one for the Peptide Serum. I decided to pause both because I couldn’t put the old branding on those orders, the MOQs are too high!

It was a painful decision to stop those orders though! Many of you had already purchased during the presale and I really wanted to be able to fulfill on our original timeline. But it didn't make sense.

And as a result of this summer "pause" at BB, a major lesson wound up dawning on me: boundaries in your business are top tier important.

I realized I was longer willing to do certain things, and I had to be honest about where those boundaries were.

I had to get clear on what I wanted to do, what my role looked like, which has created a lot of fun new expansion! And also some tough decisions.

What was super hard for me to do was admit what I did not like because I felt like I NEEDED to do a lot of these things to survive.

The idea of not doing these things was.... preposterous. How could I just decide that I didn’t like running the business? How could I just decide that someone else would need to do that for me? How could I just decide that I needed a lot of support?

Answer: boundaries.

It wasn’t my decision to not be good at certain things. It wasn’t my decision to detest certain things. But it is my responsibility to respect those boundaries.

We get emails daily asking when a certain product will restock or when we’re re-launching, etc. and I have to say I can’t predict that now.

There are a lot of pieces falling into place and I’m no longer in the era of pushing.

I couldn’t have predicted where this journey would’ve led me, but all I can do is be transparent with where we’re at now!

My current intention is to bring back the following products; barrier serum, peptide serum, glycolic acid peel, BHA, niacinamide serum. But I have no idea in which way it will unravel and it could change at any moment lol.

    I LOVED your collagen serum and Barrier Serum they have been a game changer for me. I know business rule and it might be over reaching but if you could privately share with me some recommendations to hold me over while you finish the work on your brand? I am 100% a loyal customer and will be waiting at the metaphorically door for relaunch!!
